LEANNE’S COLLECTION
Fusion Body Art has teamed up with the incredible Leanne Courtney, a professional face painter from Australia, to develop a range of face painting and special effects products that is out of this world. Leanne’s unique skills for colour combinations has led to one of the most popular product line in the Face and Body Art industry. Leanne Courtney has created and outstanding collection of large and small multicoloured split cakes that come in 50gr, 30gr and as palettes. This very unique range of paints was developed exclusively for Fusion Body Art and it is the result of months of work to come up with the most clever combos currently available.
Leanne’s Collection range includes an entire set of face painting and special effects palettes with extremely bright colours that will make your designs stand out from the crowd. Her colour combinations allow you to create mega bright butterflies, fairies, flowers and more in just a few seconds.
Some of these products contain UV / Neon pigments. These paints were developed to glow under a black light but also to have a day glow effect under natural light. Although the UV pigments used on some of the products in this range have been widely used in the face and body art industry for over 20 years, the FDA and EU Commission has not yet approved them for cosmetic use, hence their designation as special effects products. Keep in mind that this only means that the FDA and EU have not considered these pigments risky enough to spend their time looking into them, just like it happens with henna and regular tattoo inks. It does not mean they have been banned or determined unsafe by the FDA or the EU. In fact, these neon /uv paints have been tested by independent laboratories and have been determined safe to be used on the skin. Still, because of FDA and EU regulations we are forced to label them as a special effects products. In Australia, UV/Neon paints are considered safe for use on the skin. If the split cake, rainbow cake or palette has any UV colours in it, then they will be labeled as a Special Effects product.
To use the products in this range simply get your face painting brush (preferably a 1” or ¾” flat or angle brush) or sponge slightly wet and then go over the surface of your split cake back and forward until the paint on the tip of your brush or sponge has a creamy consistency. If you notice that you have a bit too much water on your cake keep moving the brush or sponge back and forward until the extra water mixes in with the paint to create that creamy consistency. To avoid colours getting muddy it is best to hold your cake with the stripes running up and down, vertically; that way, any excess water runs down over the stripes instead of across the stripes. Once your sponge or brush is fully loaded go ahead and swipe your brush over the area to be painted. Depending on how you move your brush or sponge you can create different kinds of effects.
To remove the paint off the painted surface simply use soap and warm water. Using a sponge or soft cloth, add some soap and just a few drops of water (enough to activate the soap) and proceed to gently rub the painted area until all pigments have been loosened. Then go ahead and rinse with warm water. Repeat one more time if necessary. Keep in mind that these colours, like with regular face paints, can permanently stain fabrics and other porous surfaces.
